What Is Genre?

A Genre is a type of film. having a genre helps categorize the film.


Sub genre:  The sub division of the genre in the film.

Hybrid genre:  When there is more then one genre present in a film. An example of this is that a film follows the action genre but will consist of comedy  and other genres.

The codes and convention: This is what we would expect to see in a film. An example is that in an action movie you would expect weapons, technology, protagonist and antagonist and high tempo background music.
