the reason to why sound is so important in a film is because it helps give viewers an insight of the genre they will be watching for example, if the film is playing sounds consisting of slow paced and loud music this will mean the film has connotations of horror.

Having sounds also allows the film to build suspense and gives the viewers a certain atmosphere to be in. having sound effects for certain actions makes the film much more realistic and entertaining to watch.

if a film did not have music or sound effects this may lead the viewers to not understand the concept of the film as they will have a lack of knowledge based on the film due to the fact they will not know what kind of atmosphere to be in or mind set to have. for example if they are watching a film with no music or sound effects they will not know what emotions to express or how to react to what is going on in the film. they will also not be intrigued with film as they may start to feel bored when watching the film.

if the film did consist of music and sound effects the audience will have a good understanding on the genre of the film and what type of film it is. they will also know what to expect from the film and how to react as they will have a good understanding on the film. having sound on a film also provides a certain atmosphere for the audience to be in.

the difference of having a film with sound and without sounds is that the films with sounds creates suspense and makes it much more entertaining to watch and easier to understand due to the fact the sound helps support the genre the film is following.  also films with sounds makes actions within the film seem much more realistic and makes them more effective. also having sounds in the film makes it seem much more professional as a film with no sounds makes no sense and makes it significantly difficult to follow and understand.
